I know we don’t celebrate thanksgiving here… but I got an email from an American friend thanking me for having me in her life, and it just affected me deeply… It just made me feel that we (whether arabs or non-arabs, muslims or non-muslims) should be always celebrating thanksgiving… She wrote a sentence I really loved… She wrote: “Yesterday's reality is always debatable. Tomorrow's reality is always in question. But, today, we can have some control over it”
So why not to be thankful for what you have today?? Why not having the true spirit everyday to be grateful and appreciating everything we have??

Cycle of Life
Im not actually in the mood for doing anything… im not in the mood neither to go out nor stay home… im not in the mood to get dressed and take good care of myself… I just feel myself very shallow when doing such things… and I even feel the people surrounding me not thinking and integrating things the same way I do…
I don’t know is it that im growing up and not enjoying the same things I used to enjoy in the past, or life is becoming more routine and unexciting…I think it’s a combination of both… but growing up is the major part…
I really miss school days… when I had nothing in mind except the circle of people surrounding me, who were my family and school friends… I didn’t have to care about anything else… I didn’t have to plan for my future, I didn’t have to think twice before trusting people, I didn’t have to plan a budget for all my expenses… if I was worried of something, it would be worrying that my parents would get mad at me, not worrying of the bad consequences my actions would have on me personally…
Now this circle has vanished… each person (including me) is living his own life and having his own problems and concerns … some are living abroad, some are married, some are busy at work… some are still studying… Nothing will ever reunite us again as before… but its just the cycle of life!

Jordan
I was talking to a Swiss manager at work… I asked him about his impression of Jordan… his answer kind of confused me… he said:
“I really like Jordan… I actually didn’t have any cultural shock as I expected before coming… it is so much like Switzerland!”
Should I be happy that Jordan is developing and becoming more like European countries?? Or sad, cause people are losing their original oriental traditions and are moving towards western culture ???

Horoscopes
Are you interested in horoscopes? Im talking about scientific issues related to horoscopes, not reading your luck in the daily newspaper. I actually don’t believe in the fortune telling based on the horoscopes; but I do find it interesting that each horoscope has its own and specific impact on the person’s personality. Some people might disagree with me, and I totally respect their opinion. However, I made a small research, and came up with this summary for each horoscope’s personality:

In The Meantime
This is the introduction of a book called In The Meantime (written by Iyanla Vanzant)... I just feel that it is so true, and if we deeply believe in it, we'll be able to find ourselves and the love we want...
You know where you want to be, but you have no clue how to get there. You know exactly what you want in life, but what you want is nowhere in sight. Perhaps your vision is unclear, your purpose still undefined. On the top of it all, your relationships, particularly your romantic relationships, are failing. If these scenarios feel familiar way down in the deepest of you gut, then you, my dear, are smack dab in the middle of the meantime.
Your mother, bless her hear, and your father, with all of his good intentions, did not prepare you for the meantime. They did not because they could not. No one can prepare you or help you find what you are looking for. What you need is love, not romance. Love, not more money. Love, not a new car. Love is the only thing that can make the meantime worthwhile. Once you find Love, true self love, and unconditional love for everyone all the time, things will look, feel and be a lot better. The question is: What do you do in the meantime?

The windows of our hearts and minds are streaked with past pains and hurts, past memories and disappointments. The windows are so clouded by fear, self-doubt, and inaccurate information that the light of love cannot shine through. In the meantime, we keep looking through the foggy window, trying to convince ourselves that what we see is the real thing. It's not, and we know it, but we cant seem to figure out what to do until the real thin comes along. What we must do is clean. We must clean the windows, floors, walls, closets, and corners of our mind. We must mop and sweep away the stuff that trips us up, keeps us confused, and makes the meantime miserable. We can do this through mental housekeeping. If we do a good job of it, the light will come through. Once that happens, our spirits will shine, bringing in the light of true love and happiness.

To my brother
Just today I realized what does having a close brother next to u means… My older brother lives in the states, he’s married there. He came for a visit 3 weeks ago and left today… saying goodbye is the hardest thing ever, especially to a person you really care about. Though he comes to Jordan every 2-3 years, this time was different. This time I was at an age where I was able to appreciate the real meaning of having an older brother. A brother who cares about you, who really loves you from the bottom of his heart, who really wants you to be the best person on this world. A brother who I can depend on in anything I want… when I used to call him to fix my computer, to ask him if I look good, to ask him to get me pizza, and he never said no… Its just so hard to get used to life without him again..
Its so real that u never appreciate things that you have except when they’re gone.. May god bless you my brother and take good care of you
